A little bit of scrapbooking .I normally scrapbook 12x12 but had it in my head that I wanted to do some A4 sort of size for a change. It's a very old picture of Olivia when she was a baby , she used to just fall asleep anywhere. I have decided to make a few more at this size to use up all those old photo's you take and think i will scrap that sometime.

I've used some of the lovely new pearls and pins from The Hobby House range that we are now stocking. Pop over to the shop as we have lots of them in lots of colours.

Julie: Vintage-style 'sandwich board' card

Hello again.

In my recent Design Team posts here, I seem to have taken it upon myself to promote the various unusual paper ranges Jean's shop specialises in ... and today's no different.

This time I've been working with Pion papers again, both for the patterned paper on the ouside of this card and also for the vintage image on the inside:
The vintage image was cut from this sheet called 'Romance - From Grandma's Attic':
The structure of this 'sandwich board' is something my fellow design team member Jan showed me which, in turn, she'd seen on someone else's blog ... and I've just adapted it here to suit the size and shape of the Pion image  Iwanted to use.

You can see better in this photo how it's constructed from a card base, with the fold at the top, and a hanging section slotted inside:
But, if you'd like clearer instructions than that I've created a fully illustrated tutorial which you can see in here on my personal blog.
Also, over the next few days on my blog I'll share 2 more examples of cards like this, made using Pion papers, Pion vintage images and a little splash of humour and you're welcome to drop by to see them.

See you next time.

Julie :-)

Picture Perfect!

I really do like these vintage portrait pictures...if you want to make traditional vintage projects or add a little humour these images are perfect.

adding a little colour with distress inks adds to the hand tinted photograph look.

she looks like one tough cookie!

and as for Algy... well you can make your own mind up!

The papers for making this little shrine are found here....
