Julie: Scrapbook page using the 'Lecon de Choses' range

Hello again.

As you probably know at 3DJean there's always a range of papers on offer which are not the usual brands we scrappers see week in week out. There's always something different on offer - like the French range 'Lecon de Choses', which I've used on my page today, and which has is a vintagey, shabby-chic feel in shades of palest greens, muted creams and pastel florals [all double-sided].

You can see the full range of here, and here's my take on it:
The vintage bird design, tucked behind my photograph, is taken from a sheet called 'Drawing' which consists of 16 idividual squres - reminiscent of vintage photos - filled with beautiful birds, cages and nest illustrations:

The button on the left is one of the range of decorative buttons in stock here.

I've combined this with two of the pretty florals from the range, in little strips across the page. The larger print is 'A Bit of Fashion' [which has a gorgeous bird on the reverse ... which I made sure to avod when cutting these strips out, so I can use it on something else!]:
While the smaller design - which reminds me of a Liberty print - is called 'Horizons':

If you haven't had a browse through the 12x12 paper section of the shop lately, and if you like something a bit different [dare I say 'that you won't see on a million other layouts'?], then it's definitely worth a look!
Thanks for visiting us today, I'll be back here in 3 weeks time, until then you can visit me on my blog.

Hello Kitty.....

....smile you're on TV!.. how cute is this little shrine, it's meant to be a mini theatre but I think it looks like a TV.Here's kitty having his 15 minutes of fame. I love this cat stamp from Octopode, he's cute but a bit edgy at the same time.

a little glossy accents make his eyes sparkle...

You can find the mini theatre here...The background papers are here..they look very blurry on the site but take my word for it they are stunning.......

Jan: Shine a light

Need a little gift then this tea light card may just be the thing.

The instructions are here and they are nice and easy to follow. I've used these fab new papers that Jean has got in for us to play with. Those beautiful butterflies are also new in the shop.I've mounted them on acetate to give them real depth.

For a completely different look I've used another favourite range of papers, Parfums d'Orient . The flower label is from the vintage label cd and I've used a range of paper flowers from the shop. So if you need a little gift or you want to treat yourself have a go you'll be so pleased with the result.

Knit a scarf in a night

I did, yes that's all it took a couple of hours whilst watching TV , I'm doing them now ready for christmas as they make great presents. This is a picture of how the BALLERINA knits up.

This shows you how the SALSA knits up . I think this is my favourite.
And this is the SAMBA, which comes plain or with a bit of glitz in it.

Dont forget it's only £6 a ball , so what's stopping you getting those needles out whilst the winter nights are here and having a good old knit.

Julie: Mini Printer's Tray

Hello and, as this is my first post here of 2012, Happy New Year!

Today's project is one of the Tando Creative Mini Printer's Trays which I've filled with bright, cheerful sunny-day embelishments:
It was one of those projects where I used things that could be considered as 'Best', those special things which you're never entirely sure you should glue down anywhere ... just in case you need them for something else!
After assembling the tray - a simple task involving glueing the layers together - I painted it white and used some of my favourite patterned papers to cover the back of the compartments:
I then went about selecting small embellishmnets which could fit inside the individual compartments and others such as various paper flowers and cabochons:
This particular chipboard tray comes with a cover which you can attach and close over the front, which can give it a secret book feel, but as I want mine to hang on the wall I left that off and added a hanging loop made from a tiny tape measure:
Along with this 15x15cm tray there are various other designs in stock here.

They're a great way to way to present all your favourite embellishments and papers in one small space!
Julie :-)

Hot Air?

Balloon......I love this stamp. from Lost Coast. This one is simply stamped and then coloured with Distress Inks, just swipe your ink pad onto a glass, tile or plastic surface and use a damp paintbrush to pick up the colour.... easy! Cut out and mount.

this one is stamped and rubbed over with an Antique Linen pad...and cut out

and finally stamped and then the edges of the card coloured with Broken China and Peeled Paint

I used a Jet Black Archival ink pad... no smudges!
