As Simple as ABC

It would have been easy to use these ABC stamps as an ATC.. they're the perfect size but they make a fabulous border for this box. Make it as a baby memory box or to wrap that special Christening gift. The border would look good around the Christening cake too.
Stamp the images them in grey rather than black .. this gives a softer look.

Add Golden Berry Dewdrops to the punched flowers around the edge......the flowers hide the joins!
The large flower is made with Sizzix dies and white glitter paper

Keep it Together!

Want to keep stuff together?.... This little book is a record of some of the challenges I've done. The images are already on my blog so I just selected some and printed them wallet sized.
You will need 2 chipboard covers and as many pages as you like.
My pages are 14x9cms, all different colours. I used the My Card stamp from Purple Onion ( Maybe out of stock at the moment but there's bucket loads of new stuff on the way so keep looking!)

Cover your front and back covers. Stamp the hand onto white card....dull the image with an ink pad, I used TH Antique Linen. Glue the hand to chipboard and cut out............glue this to the front WHEN YOU HAVE PUNCHED THE HOLES FOR BINDING!... 2 layers of chipboard does not go into a Bind it All!
Cut out your printed images.... with a craft knife cut around the fingers and slip in your image beneath the fingers..

I used an old text book for background paper

and added stitches around each page

Try using a selection of your own photographs.. maybe for a birthday or other special occassion!

How long is a piece of string?

........I have no idea but here's a place to keep it!
There's lots of 'altered' bean tins out there but hopefully this is a little different. You need ring pull tins.... as they leave a small lip inside when they're opened. Cover your cleaned tin with patterned paper.......... Stamp lots of different strips of patterned paper with a selection of border stamps... you can get them here A great way of using scraps............Cut out and glue in place around the tin. Cut a circle of chipboard to fit inside the tin........ this must be a snug fit as it just pushes into place, cover with patterned paper, punch a hole in the centre for your string to come through.
There you have it........... something pretty and useful to sit on your desk. You could cover the entire tin with strips or just use one or two.... add stickles, gems, ribbon , lace. Make it as plain or as decorative as you like.
If you make one it would be great if you put a link in your comment so we can come and see it!
Hope you like it!

At the border

I spotted these fab borders that Jean had got in the other day and they just had to come home with me! At £2 each they are a steal. The only problem was that I didn't have an acrylic block long enough but I soon resolved that by using my Cuttlebug B plate. It fits a treat diagonally. There's a few more designs that I need to collect but at that price a girl can have the full set and not break the bank. Here's a card I made for my great-nephew' s birthday using the skull and crossbones border. The background paper is from that lovely Websters papes pad that I'm in love with ( see my earlier post). This pad is so verstitle on one side all lovely vintagey designs and the other has lots of designs suitable for men, what more could you ask for from a pad of paper? So if you need a border or two pop over to the shop, you'll be spoilt for choice
